Frequently Asked Questions

How does the text diff comparison work?
Our diff tool uses a Longest Common Subsequence (LCS) algorithm to compare two texts. It supports three view modes: Inline (word-level highlighting), Side by Side (two-column comparison), and Unified (line-level diff). Switch between views using the toggle buttons above the results.
What is the difference between the view modes?
Inline view highlights individual changed words within each line using red strikethrough for removals and green for additions. Side by Side shows original and modified text in two columns with word-level highlights. Unified view shows a traditional line-level diff with full lines colored red or green.
Can I compare large documents?
Yes. Since all processing happens in your browser, you can compare documents of any reasonable size. The diff updates in real-time as you type or paste text.
Is my text stored or shared when comparing?
No. Both texts are processed entirely in your browser and never sent to any server. When you close the tab, both texts are cleared from memory.
